Special Meeting: December 20, 2006
TOWN OF ADDIS MINUTES
A special meeting of the Mayor and Town Council for the Town of Addis was held at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at the Addis Municipal Center.
Roll Call; Present: Mayor Bourgeois; Councilmen Cazes; Gauthreaux; Landry; Parrish; Toups.
Absent: None
Museum Plan: A short discussion was held on the proposed plan for the museum property. This will be discussed further at the January meeting. A Building Committee meeting was called for 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 27th to review the plans prior to any action being taken at the January meeting.
2007 Budget: Mayor Bourgeois called a public hearing for a discussion of the proposed 2007 budgets. Following the public hearing, a motion was made by Councilman Landry, 2nd by Councilman Cazes and adopted, to approve the 2007 budgets for the Town and the Sewer Enterprise funds, as presented. A complete copy of the budgets are available at the Town Hall during regular office hours for anyone interested. A copy of the budgets are attached to and made a part of these minutes.
Sugar Mill – Right of Way: A discussion of the Sugar Mill Plantation right-of-way will be held at the January meeting.
Team City-Entergy: Mayor Bourgeois advised that Mr. Owen Cope and Ms. Karen Yates met with him to discuss Entergy’s Team City program. Ms. Yates will attend the January meeting to present details about the program.
Bills: A motion to pay bills found in order was made by Councilman Gauthreaux, 2nd by Councilman Cazes and adopted.
2001 Police Car: No bids were received for the sale of the old 2001 Ford Police Vehicle. A motion was made by Councilman Toups, 2nd by Councilman Landry to declare the vehicle abandoned and give Mayor Bourgeois the authority to contact Black’s to get rid of it. The motion was adopted.
Pay Progression Scale: Mayor Bourgeois presented the revised pay progression scale for new employees. Following a short discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Landry, 2nd by Councilman Toups to adopt the new pay progression scale for new employees, as presented. The motion was adopted. A copy of the scale is attached to and made a part of these minutes.
Holidays: The following holidays were approved for 2007 on a motion by Councilman Gauthreaux, 2nd by Councilman Toups and adopted:

2006 Audit Engagement Letter: A motion to accept the engagement letter for the 2006 Audit, presented by Mrs. Kathleen Beard, CPA, in the amount of not more than $9,000.00, was approved on a motion by Councilman Toups, 2nd by Councilman Parrish and adopted.
Water District: Councilman Landry presented information concerning the wishes of the Water Board for Water District #1 to set up an office for their operations. This was for informational purposes only and will be discussed more at future meetings.
Adjourn: The meeting was adjourned at 6:27 p.m. on a motion by Councilman Gauthreaux, 2nd by Councilman Toups and adopted.
