VILLAGE OF ADDIS SPECIAL MEETING, April 16, 1975
A special meeting of the mayor and aldermen of the Village of Addis was held on April 16, 1975. Present: Mayor Warren Fitzgerald, Aldermen Riley Berthelot, Peter M. Strauss, Jr., and Robert Rabalais. Absent: None
This meeting was held to discuss property for the building for the water tank truck, to appoint someone to the water board to replace Warren Fitzgerald who has resigned and to ask the police to patroll all the town streets.
Reading of the minutes of the previous meeting were dispensed with until the next regular meeting. This was done on a motion made by Mr. Rabalais, seconded by Mr. Berthelot and carried.
Mr. Brewer and Mr. Rose, representatives of the railroad were present to discuss with the council the property where the old Texas and Pacific depot once was. This is where they would like to erect the new building for the tank truck. The railroad officials present seem to think that the town may be able to get this land but it will take time. The request has to be submitted and directed through many channels before any decision can be made. The council reminded Mr. Brewer and Mr. Rose that this request had been made some time ago and they have been very patiently waiting for the railroads' answer and now feel that something should be decided. These officials were also reminded that the trains are still causing inconveniences to our citizens.
The boundary lines for the corporation are still be surveyed.
Motion by Mr. Rabalais, seconded by Mr. Berthelot that the following resolution be offered. RESOLUTION: WHEREAS, there has been a vacancy on the board of the West Baton Rouge Water District No. 1 created by the resignation of a member,.Warren Fitzgerald, and WI‑AREAS, the town council has the obligation to appoint a replacement for this man the following names were submitted for consideration; Paul Wayne Ramagos, Carroll Bourgeois, and Lawrence J.
