Special Meeting: January 22, 2003

TOWN OF ADDIS MINUTES

A special meeting of the Mayor and Town Council for the Town of Addis was called by Mayor Bourgeois and held at 5:30 p.m. onWednesday, January 22, 2003 at the Addis Municipal Center. The meeting was called to discuss sewer business: a request to sell beer at a VFW function and other business properly presented. A motion was made by Councilman Parrish, 2nd by Councilman H. Landry to add a request for an open container permit by Dow Chemical/Gary Tullier to the agenda. The motion was adopted.

Roll Call: Present: Mayor Bourgeois; Councilmem Cazes; Gauthreaux; H. Landry; J. Landry; Parrish.
Absent: None

Sewer Business: Mr. Oscar Boudreaux, engineer on the LCDBG project, was recognized and reviewed the status of the expansion to the sewer plant job. He recommended that substantial completion of this job be approved.
Following Mr. Boudreaux’s presentation, a motion was made by Councilman J. Landry, 2nd by Councilman Gauthreaux to approve the substantial completion of the job on the expansion of the sewer plant. Boh Brothers was the contractor on the job. The motion was adopted.

A discussion was held on two future developments which are requesting tying-into our sewer system. Further discussion on this at the February meeting.

Cajun French Music Assn. : A request by Mr. Berthelot with the Cajun French Music Association, for the sale and consumption of beer at their fund raising event, which will be held at the VFW Hall on April 27th, was approved on a motion by Councilman Cazes, 2nd by Councilman H. Landry and adopted.

Open Container: A request, by Dow Chemical/Gary Tullier, for an open container permit for a Crawfish Boil to be held on Friday, January 21st at the Civic Center, was approved on a motion by Councilman H. Landry, 2nd by Councilman Gauthreaux and adopted.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:00 p.m. on a motion by Councilman Cazes, 2nd by Councilman Gauthreaux and adopted.
