A regular meeting of the Village Council of Addis was held this date Tuesday June 28th.

The Mayor called the meeting to order with the following present.

G.E. Booksh—Mayor

A.E. Fitzgerald—Alderman

W. Rabalais—Alderman

J.C. Burton—Alderman

Minutes of previous meeting were read and on motion Alderman Fitzgerald seconded by Alderman Burton, adopted as read.

Motion by A.E. Fitzgerald, seconded by J.C. Burton and unanimously carried all bills approved for payment.

Secretary Treasurer Lejeune gave the following statement on finances: January 1, 1949 to date.

On hand in bank                                                        $1060.09

Less outstanding checks                                         $17.75

Total on hand                                                 $1042.34

Deposited                                                                  $1665.34

Total balance on hand and deposited                    $2707.68

Total disbursed to date                                            $141.53

Balance                                                                      $2566.15

Less Bank Charge printing checks             $1.50

Grand total on hand in bank                         $2564.65

Matter of additional lights in corporate limits was discussed at length, on motion Alderman Rabalais seconded by Alderman Fitzgerald and unanimously carried the Mayor was instructed contact Gulf States Utilities and negotiate for the installation of an additional four or five street lights at locations to be chosen by Street Commissioner.

Street Commissioner reported on weed cutting and ditch cleaning, and in this connection authorization was given to purchase necessary tools to continue said work.

There being no further business on motion Fitzgerald seconded by Burton meeting adjourned.
