VILLAGE OF ADDIS SPECIAL MEETING
A special meeting of the mayor and aldermen of the Village of Addis was held on July 16, 1974. Present: Mayor Pro Tem Warren Fitzgerald, Aldermen Riley Berthelot and Peter M. Strauss., Jr.. Absent: None
Minutes of the regular meeting of July 2, 1974 were read. Mr. Pecquet, attorney for the town, then said that the resolution which was published for the incorporation of the property of the VFW should have a few changes in the wording. The wording was changed and the resolution is as follows: RESOLUTION:
This special meeting was held to discuss the building for the new fire truck, the bids which were submitted on the grubbing and clearing of a drainage ditch and the appointment of a new mayor.
The bids for grubbing and clearing were too high and were:rejected. The following bids were submitted: Baton Rouge Tree Service, $3,895, Joseph Pipsara, $21,195 and Industrial Enterprises, $33,400. The council discussed these bids and agreed that because of the expense of building a building for the fire truck they were unable to accept any, of::these high bids.
Roy Mouch, was finable to attend this meeting. The council had planned to discuss the fire truck building with Mr. Mouch because he is a member of the Police Jury, and since he was unable to attend they postponed making plans for this building until they could meet with him.
Mr. Berthelot than made a motion which was seconded by Mr. Strauss and carried that the council go into executive session. This was to discuss the appointment of the new mayor. However, no decision was made. It was decided to again meet on July 24, 1974 at 5:00 PM.to make this appointment.
There being no further business a motion was made by Mr. Berthelot, seconded by Strauss and carried that the meeting be adjourned.
