FIRE SUB-DISTRICT #1 OF WEST BATON ROUGE
MINUTES

The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for Fire Sub-District #1 of West Baton Rouge was held at 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at the Addis Municipal Center.

Roll Call: Present: Executive-in-Charge Bourgeois, Commissioners Cazes; Gauthreaux; Landry; Parrish; Toups.
Absent: None

Minutes: The minutes of the February 4th regular meeting were approved, as mailed, on a motion by Commissioner Toups, 2nd by Commissioner Landry and adopted.

Additions to Agenda: None

Fire Report: The monthly fire report, given by Mike Landry, included 10 rescue/first aid calls; 13 for the year; 1 signal 20; 5 for the year; 1 residential fire; 1 for the year; 1 vehicle fire for the year; 1 trash/grass fire; 2 for the year; 1 public assistance call for the year and 1 false alarm for the year. There was 1 automatic call to Brusly; 3 for the year.
Training for the month was on 2/10/09 on Personal Protective Equipment attended by 18 firemen; and 2/16/09 on Fire Behavior attended by 7 firemen.

Purchases: There were no requests for purchases. Mike asked that the Town help, in some way, to get residences and businesses to put municipal numbers on their homes and places of business. This is very valuable in case of an emergency. The Town's code requires 4” numbers on all buildings in Town.

Audit Questionnaire: A motion was made by Commissioner Gauthreaux, 2nd by Commissioner Toups to authorize Executive-in-Charge Bourgeois to sign the 2008 Audit Questionnaire required by the Legislative Auditor, which has been completed by Ms. Vera. The motion was adopted.

Bills: A motion to pay bills found in order was made by Commissioner Cazes, 2nd by Commissioner Landry and adopted.

Adjourn: The meeting was adjourned at 9:10 p.m. on a motion by Commissioner Toups, 2nd by Commissioner Parrish and adopted.
