Speical Meeting: January 14, 2009

TOWN OF ADDIS MINUTES

Mayor Bourgeois called a special meeting of the Mayor and Town Council to handle the following business: (1) Bids-Force Main (2) Bids-Museum Park-Phase I (3) hold a public hearing and act on Ordinance #2009-2 (4) hold a public hearing and act on Ordinance #2009-3 (5) discuss new letterhead and business cards (6) and add any other business to the agenda. The meeting was held at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at the Addis Municipal Center.

Roll Call: Present: Mayor Bourgeois; Councilmen Cazes; Gauthreaux; Landry; Parrish; Toups.
Absent: None

Bids-Force Main: Following a discussion of the bids received for the Force Main, a motion was made by Councilman Gauthreaux, 2nd by Councilman Cazes to accept Mr. Oscar Boudreaux's recommendation to accept the low bid of Spinks Conctruction in the amount of $71,097.00, and authorize Mayor Bourgeois to sign all documents necessary to the project. The motion was adopted unanimously.

Bids-Museum Park-Phase I: No bids were received by the deadline for submission of bids, however, one bid was received later in the day. A motion was made by Councilman Toups, 2nd by Councilman Cazes to waive the lateness of the bid received from D. K. Contractors, Inc. in the amount of $ 58,000.00 for Phase I of the Museum Park project and award the contract to D. K. Contractors, Inc. The motion was adopted on a vote of Yeas: Cazes; Landry; Parrish; Toups. Nays: Gauthreaux.

Ordinance #2009-2: Following the reading of the Ordinance in full by Mr. Larpenteur and a public hearing on same, a motion was made by Councilman Cazes, 2nd by Councilman Parrish to adopt Ordinance #2009-2, “An ordinance amending the Addis Code of Ordinances, particularly, Subdivisions,by revising to reflect that the Mayor and Town Council of the Town of Addis have full authority to grant or reject variances regardless of whether there is a recommendation of the Planning & Zoning Commission.” The motion was adopted on the following roll call vote: Yeas: Cazes: Gauthreaux; Landry; Parrish; Toups. Nays: None Absent: None Abstaining: None

Ordinance #2009-3: Following the reading of the Ordinance in full by Mr. Larpenteur and a public hearing on same, a motion was made by Councilman Cazes, 2nd by Councilman Parrish to adopt Ordinance #2009-3, “An Ordinance amending the Addis Code of Ordinances, particularly, Chapter 11, Section 11-2(C) to add an additional zone, R-80 as a Zone in which Mobile Homes will be permitted within the limits of the Town of Addis” The motion was adopted on the following roll call vote: Yeas: Cazes; Gauthreaux; Landry; Parrish; Toups. Nays: None Absent: None Abstaining: None

A motion was made by Councilman Gauthreaux, 2nd by Councilman Toups to order new stationary and business cards. The motion was adopted.

A motion to adjourn was made at 5:30 p.m. By Councilman Parrish, 2nd by Councilman Toups and adopted.
